Damn. Martin isn’t home. We forgot to talk about what to have for dinner tonight, and I’ve been writing – Llewellyn assignments starting – and lost track of time. Nothing thawed. And he should have called by now if he would be late. I wonder what's keepng him?

There have been weird noises all afternoon. Has anyone else heard them? I'm not sure what's causing them, heat, humidity, my next-door neighbor moving and deciding to take the day off to finish. I can't imagine working outside in this heat. I feel faint as it is. And the cat is snarling at something. Better go see. She got a centipede yesterday, and I’m afraid she’ll get sick.

Lady Zen is dragging something, but I can't tell what. I think I'd better get it away from her.

I thought it was a small mouse, but the more I look at it, the more it looks like a finger. A human finger. O M Gss. And when I tried to post this, the net crashed. Well, my connection, but I feel very alone right now.

It's too quiet.

Zombies

Why did it have to be zombies?
I'd prefer snakes.

It's a good thing that most people in this neighborhood aren’t around during the day, Correction, my stupid body-builder neighbor who played hooky from work is home. I’m do glad he’s moving out rather than in. He’s been drunk every night and so he takes a day off to move. He seems to be trashing his own garage. Dumb fuck.

Good think I have steel doors with deadbolts. Paul used to envision days like this. I don’t have quite a year’s supply of food any more, but the machete is still hanging on the wall It was sharp the last time I tested it, must have been around Ostara. I only have 100 rounds for the 45, but Paul always told me not to use bullets for zombies. Cold steel works for just about anything. And zombies aren’t quite as much of a problem as the mutant bikers would be.

I've just noticed. There haven't been any new reports on my F-List for at least a couple of hours. The Strib site says nothing, but that's typical. Except, of course, they have the temperature right. 90 degrees. But no mention of zombies, even though there's reports of attacks all over the blogosphere.

What if this is the first net-only zombie war?

No, I haven't gone crazy, it's Blog Like It's the End of the World day, Zombie edition, according to
http://myelvesaredifferent.blogspot.com/2007/05/blog-like-its-end-of-world-bliteotw.html

Several people on my friend's list were doing it, so I decided it would be more fun than the Llewellyn assignment I'm supposed to be writing.

Elizabeth Bear's LJ is really good

Sorry if I worried anyone.

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] oakwind, and another free trip round the Sun. And many more, all of them better than this past one.

No Zombies

A forum on science and math for pagans and magicians meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month, at 7:30 pm, at Eye of Horus, 2717 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis. The next meeting will be June 26, and the topic this month is "The Wheel of the Year in Astronomy and Astrology." Solstice is just past – what is a solstice, anyway? For that matter, what are the equinoxes? In general, how well does modern astrology’s understanding of the sun’s motion agree with modern astronomy? We will discuss these and other topics. For further information, contact Martin at M_Summerton@yahoo.com. Please feel free to pass on this announcement.
