I love your icon. I have felt it necessary to speak firmly to more than one coast-dweller on this point: Minnesota, Midwest, blue. We are not an exception; we are not somewhere that doesn't count as the Midwest somehow. Comments deriding the Midwest for its conservatism are about as reasonable as comments deriding Atlantic states for same (because of the South) or Western states for same (because of, say, Wyoming).
