I won!

Wow. My poem won one of Elise's Alchemy Poetry challenge necklaces. I now own the necklace, "Perdurabo: King of the Morning". I think the last time I won anything was a science fair in high school, and I KNOW the prize wasn't as cool. It's not the Hugo, or the Nebula, but it's VERY lovely. Wow.

I thought perhaps it was possible, because Tracy called from Eye of Horus and told Martin that one of us should be at the finale tonight.

(For those who don't know, Frater Perdurabo was Aleister Crowley's name in the Golden Dawn.)

Perdurabo

I will persevere
through my mother's scorn
through my teacher's rod
through my mentor's folly

I will endure failed marriages
I will endure myriad lovers
I will endure poverty and loss

I broke all ten commandments
I achieved all ten grades
I published countless books

I lived. I died. Still I endure.
Magick is that which lasts.

Congratulations!

You deserve some joyful hopping up and down. Congratulations and felicitations.

I know I did not rise to appropriate joy and exuberence in our phone conversation earlier, and for that I am truly sorry. I'll make up for it now!

Yip, Yip, Yip, Yippee!

Katie

See you manana.

Wow - congratulations!

Definitely cooler than the science fair! (Not to diminish your high school accomplishment, but...) The poem is lovely. Congratulations! Wish I was there to see the necklace.

If Katie brings her camera when she comes over today, I'm hoping to have a picture of me and the necklace posted quite soon.

Oh! That reminds me that I have a very nice picture of you that I took at SweetWood that I've been meaning to email to you as an attachment. Remember you said that you'd been hoping to get a good one you could use for something (can't remember what) and so I took a couple of pictures of you sitting at Russ and Karen's picnic table? Anyway, right after I post this, I'll hunt it up, scan it and send it.

hurrah!

Congratulations. I am wondering if we can publish the poem in The Laughterful Caress? I would love to. What do you think?

Yes, you can publish the poem in LC; please attribute to me, not Martin and me. I think I said this the other night, but I'm not sure if you're the same person. You look different on a camel ;-)
