Moonday

There is a full lunar eclipse today, visible in the US in the small hours. It portends great change - VOTE if you haven't already.

Today's character: Alice (Liddell) of Oxford and Wonderland. My first portal fantasy, at the age of 7. May explain a few things about me.

Clear Outside says 70% clouds at maximum eclipse in Minneapolis. For a lunar eclipse, that's not bad. Depending on how they're arranged and how the wind is blowing, it might even make it more cool looking.

Moon altitude at maximum eclipse, 5:02am, is 20 degrees in Minneapolis and setting. That's lowish; make sure you have a good viewing angle. I'll be trying to see it in St Charles, 17 degrees, 66% cloud.

I'd actually recommend mostly watching *before* maximum eclipse, because the sky will start noticeably brightening around 5:40 (Minneapolis), 5:15 (St Charles). That's halfway through astronomical twilight.
