Why are there pronouns?
He, she, it, we, they, you, me,
Our names should be enough.
The magic fish swims
Through water, air, and fire;
Only earth drowns him.
Vintage 1940's love spell (dark blue earrings)
Heels click on pavement
He eyes pull me down the block
He skirt is so tight
The Pookah's Garden (green and black earrings)
The leaves become seeds.
Flowers turn into vines.
Everything changes.
At the Haiku party
The other end of the hall is New York.
Lots of booze, tons of food, wall to wall people.
You can't hear yourself think, let alone write.
And there are people in suits.
Out here in the boundary waters
There are radiant shapes in rainbow colors.
Occasional moments of silence.
People are creating in the breeze.

haiku earrings. wotta fabulous idea.
Date: 2004-06-01 12:54 pm (UTC)one imagines haiku written on silk and used to knot up semi-precious stones to dangle from a silver (or hypoallergenic stainless) ear wire.
or carved in miniature into bone or wood fragments...
or, haiku inspired by the vision of a particular pair of earrings.
all three? more and other?
I like the concept of the kind of garden a Pooka might keep. Definitely one with a wild portion to it.
Re: haiku earrings. wotta fabulous idea.
Date: 2004-06-01 04:55 pm (UTC)Elise starts off with a table covered with earrings.
You select a pair, and hand it to her.
She gives you a title (much of her jewelry has a name or title)
You compose a haiku to go with the title and earrings.
You put the haiku on the table.
You keep the earrings.
She ends the evening with a table covered with haiku.
I came back at the end of the evening, and did this a second time, so I have two pairs of earrings this time.
Once I start writing poetry, it's sometimes hard for me to stop. So I wrote a bunch of poems, and posted the ones I wanted to share.
