Witch's Hat Tower

I just climbed my icon
The Witch’s Hat Tower in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis is the highest point in town, and the top is the highest place not counting a few skyscrapers, I think. The view is glorious, and the weather today was perfect. 118 steps to the top, and eight open arches. I took pictures, but I haven’t tried to transfer them yet. If any are particularly good, I’ll post them.
It’s only open one day a year, the Pratt Ice Cream Social, which is going on now. I didn’t stay for ice cream or kids games. If you live in the Twin Cities, it’s open til 8. The best view in town, IMHO.

Date: 2009-06-02 07:22 pm (UTC)I also got to go up the Highland Park Water Tower in Saint Paul at the corner of Snelling and Ford Parkway last July. It's open for the St. Paul Regional Water Services open house July 19-20, and in Oct. 10-11.
