Movie to see

"The Spiderwick Chronicles"* is playing at the Riverview Theater http://www.riverviewtheater.com/ this weekend at 1 pm and 3pm. Because it's a matinee, it's only $2. It is a GREAT kids movie, as long as the kid or kids in question aren't too easily frightened by scary monsters. We saw it yesterday. It's wonderful for adults who like fantasy, and the special effects are beautiful.

I bet my girls would love that.

But our weekend is going to be just a little crazy. Actually, all our weekends lately have been crazy; the girls want to be in the Mayday Parade and we've been going on Saturday afternoons to the HotB to make costumes.

I'm also not certain how Kiera would deal with the scary monsters. I took her on the haunted house ride at the MoA when we went during spring break, and she cowered against me the whole time but had an enormous grin on her face as we emerged. She likes being scared. But not too scared.

I saw a sneak preview of the movie at the Bell Museum a while back and quite agree on its coolness.
