tired but accomplished

magentaI have done everything I planned to do today, and then some. I got groceries, went to Target and Walgreens, fixed dinner, went to water exercise, ate dinner, washed dishes and changed to cat box. And talked on the phone to a friend, and had another friend come over briefly.
And I'm getting a journal entry done. Wow.
My "annual evaluation" at work is tomorrow. Only a month or so late. Doesn't matter, anyway. Being civil service, they can't fire me; my raise, such as it was, happened automatically, and wasn't much. Once, I joked with my boss that I wanted at least a 10% raise, and we had a good laugh. And with the %$#@&% governor cutting the aid to local government, I'll be lucky to stay employed. %$#&* Republicans. I like what Howard Dean said a few days ago. He spoke out against war with Iraq, and cutting rich people's taxes, and said he was from "The Democratic wing of the Democratic party."
I am rather cynical, and perhaps bitter tonight. I have lived most of my adult life under presidents, governors, etc, that I did not vote for, and I have voted in every election I could since I became old enough to vote. I have never felt like the government represented me; indeed, it frequently does things I think are horrible. I was hoping it would get better. Instead, things are getting worse and worse.
Maybe it's just a side effect of being tired.
