This evening I stood at the foot of the tower pictured on my icon and looked up. And up. And up.
The Witch's Hat Tower, officially named the Prospect Park Water Tower, is the highest point in the Twin Cities. I've been doing rituals there, alone and with various groups, since a few months after I got to town.
My coven does Summer Solstice at the base of the tower. We watch the Sun sink into the earth as the shortest night of the year begins, and we sing the Sun to sleep. We also sing the Sun up on the morning of the Winter Solstice on the Washington Avenue bridge, after the longest night.
Tomorrow is the longest day of the year. Happy Midsummer to all!
