To the Mainstream Media

The House did NOT uphold Bush's veto, the House *failed to overturn* Bush's veto. The majority of representitives in the House voted in favor of the SCHIP bill, and did the majority in the Senate. An overwhelming majority of people in the US favor the bill. So just because Mr. 25% vetoed it doesn't and the House couldn't muster the *2/3* needed to overturn doesn't mean it isn't wanted and needed by many people.

Language has power. The MSM is defining the issue as if the House voted against the bill. They didn't, they just couldn't find enough Reps to vote against Bush.

Does Journalism school these days consists mainly of learning how to comb your hair? How about adding classes in what we used to call Civics? And perhaps English, while you're at it, or at least find someone to proofread your output.

Newspapers should also get headline writers who don't distort the whole meaning of the story by the headline they write. Lately I have seen a plethora of badly written news story. I would finish reading them and say they have left out vital information and did not start at the beginning and go to the end but mixed it all up for me to figure out and left meaningful details out.
